Writing something true

I like to write things that are true. That's not to say I don't write fiction, I almost exclusively write fiction. I just need my fiction to be true.

Maybe true is the wrong word. I mean genuine, personal, from-the-heart. That's really the crux of it: heart. I do the majority of my thinking with my head, my analytical brain, the one that thinks in words. That's not to say I'm not in touch with my emotions, but they're usually a guide, not the final decision maker. Huh. "Guy discovers creativity is led by emotion." Whatever. I'll take the lesson.
